Review of Film "I Am"
Monday, May 7, 2012
I saw this incredible film last year and it had a life changing impact on my world view. I saw it three times in the theater. I even took my kids. Our education system does NOT teach us about ourselves as human beings. We are not told how amazing we all are and how connected we are to each other. We are not given the necessary tools to do a better job at being human and this is the simple reason why we are failing each other. ... read more

A Question of Balance
Wednesday, September 7, 2011

The proposed Mount Ashland Association ski area expansion is a corporate snow job, blowing a bitter wind in August; and the public has been given neither good science or any real supporting evidence to justify what is transpiring under our noses; nor even the real reasons why the ski area wants to expand into a pristine roadless area when there are five other documented MAA expansion plans that would cause little or no impact to the last and largest wilderness area of its kind in the Eastern Siskiyou Mountains. ... read more

Sunday, September 4, 2011
In 1998 the Mt. Ashland Association—working together with some of the top resort planning experts in the country--submitted its first site specific plan to improve the ski area (based on the 1991 master plan). This plan included the wind protected C-6 chairlift that would effectively change the nature of the terrain balance from being too steep for many guests to being attractive and attainable for a wide variety of users. The new plan also called for 200 additional parking spaces to better accommodate the Rogue Valley’s growing skier population. ... read more
